A Face In The Crowd

A Face In The Crowd

Here is a 43 page Stephen King story about … baseball, sort of. He likes baseball. Baseball is a great subject. King, though, turns it in to something else. This is not really a horror story. It is more psychological than horror. I did not buy into the psychological part because the character was more boring than unlikable. At least he did not turn it into a novel.

As always, this is a short review for a short book. For more, check out Amazon.

I rate my books as either YES (I will read again) or NO (I will not read again). This gets a rating of NO.

The Green Mile

The Green Mile

This is a great story that was turned into a Tom Hanks movie. It was originally released in a series of six books (a serial novel) that seemed unique at the time. At 548 pages, I can barely include this as a short read (so, each original book did average less than 100 pages).

I am not sure if the original six books are even available except as used. You can always search Amazon! Whether you get the original six or the current one, this is a very good read.

As always, this is a short review for a short book (if you consider it six books!).

The Stand

The Stand

My favorite Stephen King book is THE STAND. I have read it many times. Many Many Many times.

This graphic novel is a whole new way to enjoy a great book.

This 31 pager is Book 1 of Volume 1. There are about five books in each of the six volumes to the series.

I rate my books as either YES (I will read again) or NO (I will not read again). This gets a rating of YES. If I could, I would rate it higher than YES.

The graphics are fantastic! Get more info on Amazon.

Blockade Billy

Blockade Billy

112 pages (a little long for a short read book) of Stephen King and baseball. More King than baseball. Because of the mood that King sets up, I felt angry after reading this story.

I rate my books as either YES (I will read again) or NO (I will not read again). This gets a rating of NO.

You can get more info on Amazon.

Throttle

Throttle

A 50 page story by Stephen King and Joe Hill.

It is not set in Maine. The biker gang and their nemesis are out West.

The bikers (main characters) are not sympathetic. It has something of a family angle, but not a family anyone would ever want. You might feel angry and depressed after this one.

I rate my books as either YES (I will read again) or NO (I will not read again). This gets a rating of NO.
